Operator: dieunz, contact: songtimeline.app@gmail.com. Song Timeline is a private, non-commercial hobby project: a music guessing game that runs as an activity inside Discord.
What we process. When you launch the activity, Discord shares your basic account info with us (scope identify): your Discord user ID, display name and avatar URL. We only use it to show you in the game and to keep your seat. The access token Discord issues is used once to confirm your identity with Discord and is not stored. Game data (cards, tokens, turns, typed answers, votes) lives only in the server's memory while a game room exists and is deleted at the latest one hour after the last player disconnects. We have no database and keep no player profiles. We do keep an anonymous usage statistic: when a game starts, we store for each participant a non-reversible short hash of their Discord user ID and likewise one for the Discord server, plus the date of the first and last game, the number of games and, per day, the number of games and players. Names, answers and game content are not part of it. It only tells us how many different people and servers use the game; on request we delete the entry for you. The solo modes (“Daily round”, “Older or younger”) run in memory only; to allow one daily attempt we keep, for 45 days, a non-reversible hash of your Discord user ID and your score. By default, once you finish a run you appear with your Discord display name, your score, the date and short hashes of your user and server ID on the relevant leaderboard; the same applies to the weekly ranking “Who played the most this week?”, where we count per week (for 10 weeks) how many games each person played, together with their name. These entries are visible to other players. A single switch “Appear on leaderboards” (covering all three lists together) lets you opt out at any time — no new entries are added afterwards and your name disappears immediately from the weekly ranking — and “Delete my entries” additionally removes existing entries on all three lists, or you can ask us by e-mail. If you send a message through the feedback window, we store its text, its type, your Discord name and user ID and the time; we read it to improve the game and delete it on request, so please do not include personal data. If you allow Discord to let Song Timeline set your activity status (permission rpc.activities.write), your Discord profile shows that you are playing Song Timeline, whether you are in the lobby or a round, how many players take part and how many cards you have, but never other players' names; we do not store this, and the game works the same without the permission. Your volume setting is stored locally on your own device. The hosting provider processes technical connection data such as IP addresses.
Third parties. Discord provides sign-in and the activity. Our server fetches short song previews from Deezer and forwards them to you; your data is not sent to Deezer. The server is hosted by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (data center in Frankfurt, Germany). We do not sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
Your rights. You may request access, correction, deletion and restriction of processing, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact us at songtimeline.app@gmail.com. You can revoke the app's access in your Discord settings under "Authorized Apps".
Age. You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13 or older, depending on your country).
